It is designed to take the place of
your main church service over a 5
week period, but can be used as an
additional weekly event, perhaps on
an evening. It will however work
best at the time and place of your
main weekly church service. Why?
Well, that is when your church
members will come, and also when
many outsiders might expect to
occasionally come to church. If it is
felt that more non Christians would
come on a Saturday night (for
example) rather than a Sunday
morning, then your fellowship
should be prepared to make
Saturday night their main service, at
least for the duration of Dying to
Meet You. The key to the success
of this or any other evangelistic programme,
is the involvement and
commitment of the whole church!
There is a 6 month lead in and
preparation period to the month of
mission. This period and the material
provided are designed to inform,
excite and involve your church members. There are also suggested
community action ideas to use, by
which you can show love in action
to your community, and let them
know that you are dying to meet
them! The lead in period culminates
with teaching materials designed for
home group use, which will give
each member of your fellowship the
incentive, tools and hopefully the
motivation to be involved in various
ways and to invite their friends,
family, neighbours and work colleagues
to Dying to Meet You.
On each of the five Sundays of mission,
the whole programme is based
around the theme for that week. The
programme will consist of songs,
video clips, testimonies and a
preached presentation of the gospel,
using the theme as the springboard.
Many of the tools (video clips, song
suggestions etc) are provided in the
pack.
A Sunday school, or children’s
church runs simultaneously, based
on the same themes using quizzes,
games, songs, crafts and Bible stories.
